Work & Weekend Worthy: Breitling Superocean Heritage II Chronograph

Each month, we choose a watch on Troverie that can translate beautifully from office wear to off duty attire.. In this edition of WWW, all eyes are on the the Breitling Superocean Heritage II Chronograph.

A modern take on the classic diver, first created in 1957, the Superocean collection released last year by Breitling was well received (and quickly sought out) by collectors and new devotees alike. While the brand has historically been known for its aviation-driven offerings, as in the Navitimer collection, Superocean’s popularity proves Breitling’s sporty appeal reaches well beyond the skies.

One of this year’s debuts, the Superocean Heritage II Chronograph catches the eye with its handsome face in a deep Pacific blue.  While we’re partial to the juxtaposition of the elegant Milanese mesh bracelet against a masculine 44m case, the rubber strap option will appeal to the aquatically-inclined – or for those looking to this model as primarily an off-duty style. With a Milanese bracelet, this sporty watch is plenty dressed enough to pair with a crisp linen shirt or a suit. Collectors are focused on the Caliber 13  movement, but if aesthetics are your motivating factor, look to the collection's Heritage II B20 Automatic, which rings in at a more comfortable $4,885.
